I… disagree. Immortality is a childish pursuit. Even increasing human lifespans by orders of magnitude has dystopian components, implications much darker than the idea of death.

It’s presented as the ultimate innovation, but will only bring stagnation.

And misery for everyone involved.

I've read your essay and I'm not exactly sure what you're disagreeing with. I tried to make it clear I do not personally subscribe to trying to live forever as a good idea and that seems to be what you're disagreeing with, i.e., a point I do not make. Anyhow, as I've read your essay now, I have some feedback which I will make a comment of there.

I am sorry I missed that. Indeed that is my main point.

I am still much more skeptical of the legitimacy of the pursuit however, as you probably could tell.

Even if ultimately immortality is just a goal post and the true aspiration, to increase health spans--I have a healthy skepticism of techies when they claim they are here to help and their efforts will benefit all of mankind...
